Police have released footage of a woman they are hunting after a box of human faeces was left outside an MP’s office.
The ‘offensive item’ was found outside Siobhan Baillie’s constituency office in Stroud, Gloucestershire Constabulary say.
Officers would now like to speak to a woman – who was seen on the day dressed in pink trousers – in connection with alleged harassment of the Tory MP.
CCTV footage shows the woman walking towards Ms Baillie’s office and holding a small box, police say.
The incident was reported shortly after 1.30pm on Wednesday, November 2.
The box is said to have included a derogatory note written on the inside of it and to have had the MP’s name written on it.
It has been reported today that a message with it read: ‘If you won’t clean your own s***, why should I?’.
Ms Baillie said ‘It’s difficult to understand the motivation of anybody who would leave a box of poo for another person to open. It is disgusting.

‘We are also in the middle of town – what would have happened if a child had picked it up instead?
‘I have no idea what they hope to achieve other than to try and intimidate myself and my staff.
‘Nobody deserves having to find this stuff outside their workplace and MPs have been murdered in recent years so we cannot ignore strange or nasty behaviour. ‘
She added: ‘This type of activity is self-defeating and will harm democracy.
‘Decent people are already thinking twice about standing for public office or working in public facing roles because of the nastiness, hate and abuse that MPs and others receive.

‘If we continue down this road, with people resorting to such juvenile and unpleasant tactics, then we may end up with elected officials who refuse to engage with the public or believe it is acceptable political discourse to leave excrement on doorsteps of those they do not agree with.
‘I have a zero tolerance to this sort of behaviour. I know the vast majority of local people will be equally disgusted too.
‘I have challenged political hate in Parliament and locally already – this is nothing new or anything I cannot handle.
‘I will also protect my staff and do everything I can to ensure the person who did this is found.’

‘We are taking this incident of harassment seriously and ask that anyone with information contacts Gloucestershire Constabulary through the website, quoting incident 212 of November 2.’
Ms Baillie became the Conservative MP for Stroud in 2019.
Speaking to the BBC about the incident earlier this week, she said she found it ‘difficult to understand’ the perpetrator’s motivation.
She said: ‘There are plenty of ways to make a point about politics or governments without resorting to putting excrement in a box.’
Staff for Ms Baillie previously said she was targeted after taking maternity leave following the birth of her daughter.
